The City of Morden is excited to announce participation in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge from June 1 – 30, as we strive to be named Canada’s Most Active Community.

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges, and many of us have had to adjust to cancelled or virtual programming. Now more than ever, it’s important to find ways to connect with our friends, family and community, and the Community Better Challenge can help us do so safely!

Helping to strengthen communities through physical activity and sport, the Community Better Challenge is awarding $100,000 to the community that rallies the most participants and accumulates the most active minutes during the challenge.

Let's Community Better, together

We encourage all residents of Morden to participate by downloading the free ParticipACTION app so you can track and contribute to Morden’s total active minutes. Every move counts! You can also submit your activity by registering online. In addition to helping Morden become the most active community, individual participants will be eligible for regular nationwide prize draws throughout the ParticipACTION challenge.

The City of Morden has added a bonus challenge, inviting residents to learn about physical activity guidelines and then submit weekly active minutes to be entered into a weekly local prize draw! Paper or online forms are available at www.mymorden.ca/participaction

“ParticipACTION’s Community Better Challenge is a great motivator to remember how important physical activity is. By following the physical activity guidelines for our age group, we experience so many benefits, including improved sleep, improved energy, improved mood, and improved relationships. Now, more than ever, physical activity needs to be prioritized to help us stay healthy in mind, body, and community spirit,” said Stephanie Dueck, Recreation Programmer for the City of Morden.

Physical activity can break down walls and act as a building block to grow stronger communities by boosting the confidence and happiness of individuals. Morden is excited to Community Better together.
