The City of Morden is delighted to announce the opening of Lakeside Cemetery, a serene and thoughtfully designed final resting place for our community. Phase 1 of construction has been completed, marking a significant milestone in providing a dignified and peaceful space for loved ones.

Phase 1 of Lakeside Cemetery includes the development of access roads, pathways, parking areas, and the provision of 240 full burial plots, along with 72 ash interment plots. These essential components have been thoughtfully designed to meet the immediate needs of our community.

Future phases are already in the works. Soon, visitors can expect to see an eye-catching entrance sign, a green burial site, ash scattering grounds, columbarium, tree, shrub and flower planting, and meandering pathways. Our aim is to create a beautiful and harmonious site that will provide solace and comfort for generations to come.

Lakeside Cemetery spans an expansive 8 acres and has the capacity for over 2,000 plots. By meticulously planning for the future, we anticipate that Lakeside Cemetery will meet the needs of the community for the next 30 years. We understand the importance of creating a legacy and are committed to providing a tranquil space that families can visit and cherish.

For families seeking diverse interment choices, Lakeside Cemetery offers a range of options including traditional burial, ash burial, ash columbaria, ash scattering, and green burial, as well as memorial trees and benches. We understand the importance of providing a variety of choices to honour the individual preferences and beliefs of our community members.
