Fresh Inflows into Lake Minnewasta Prompt Adjustment to Normal Drought Stage

The City of Morden is pleased to announce a significant development regarding the water levels at Lake Minnewasta. Recent inflows into the lake have resulted in a notable increase in water levels, with the current elevation registering at 3 feet 2.5 inches below the Full Supply Level (FSL).

As outlined in the city's established drought plan, this elevation is well within the parameters of a normal stage. This positive change reflects the natural resilience of our water system and the effectiveness of our community's water conservation efforts.

"We are delighted to share this news with our residents," stated Santokh Randhawa, Deputy City Manager of the City of Morden. "The increase in water levels signifies a positive shift in our water situation. However, it’s also a reminder to stay vigilant and watch our consumption levels. Every drop counts."

In light of this development, the City of Morden is officially adjusting the drought stage to "Normal," effective immediately. Residents are reminded to continue practising water conservation measures, even during periods of normal water levels, to ensure the sustainability of our water supply for future generations.

The City of Morden extends its appreciation to residents for their ongoing cooperation and commitment to water conservation.
