Finance

Good governance means having good processes in place. Each year the Town of Morden reports to the residents in the following ways.

Financial Plans

Each year Council goes through a lengthy process of finalizing the budget for the next year. Once completed the Financial Report is presented to the public at a Council Meeting - usually in early April. An advertisement is placed in the local newspaper and copies are available to the public before the presentation. Everyone is invited to come along to the Council meeting. The following are the links to the presentations that were presented.

Business Plans

In accordance with the Municipal Act of the Province of Manitoba, the Town of Morden's objectives are;

  • Provide good government
  • Provide service, facilities and other things that, in the opinion of the Council, are necessary or desirable for all or part of the Town; and
  • Develop a safe and viable community.

To assist in meeting these objectives, the Council and Management Team develop a two year Business Plan. This document outlines the Town's vision, mission, core values, core department services and core strategies. It summarizes the Town's priorities and outlines the planned steps needed to realize them. Click on the link for the years that you wish to see.
